Amazing Homemade Pasta in Literally 10 minutes

I’ve always wanted to make homemade pasta since a friend of mine, Jordan Borth, recommended I try it. That was almost 2 years ago, and I finally tried it tonight.

Awesome. For so many reasons.

For some reason, I thought I didn’t have the time to make homemade pasta (even saying that sounds like a commitment), but there is no excuse, as it literally takes less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients? Hardly anything.

  1. A single egg
  2. 1 cup o’ all purpose flour
  3. 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  4. 2 tablespoons of water

That’s it. Seriously.

Steps? Easier than finding the ingredients.

  1. In a medium sized bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the flour, add the slightly beaten egg, and mix. Mixture should form a stiff dough. If needed, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons water.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough for about 3 to 4 minutes. With a pasta machine or by hand roll dough out to desired thinness. Use machine or knife to cut into strips of desired width.

Before you start making the dough, put a pot on the stove and let the water boil while you’re making the dough. The pasta will be ready, the water will be boiling, toss it in for 1 – 3 minutes. Done.

This should take you 10 minutes from start to finish—although, I took a bit longer than that as I wanted to make sure I did it right.

It’s also delicious, by the way.

¡Buen Provecho!

*Update: The pasta in the photo is not the pasta I made. Mine looked better 😉
